Spirit Training
Once lockdown restrictions were eased, Spirit resumed his training with at the weekends and during the evenings. Spirit was a very willing dog and loved to learn new things,
Spirit practised his lead work and his recall work whilst our in the fields. His trainer had to make sure that Spirit would not be distracted by other dogs whilst on his walks. Sometimes, Spirit would see other pups plahing with their toy and he would want play with it himself!
Spirit was also taken to a park and to a cafe so see how he would deal with different noises - and he was brilliant! .
Meet our sponsor dog, Spirit
Our year 5 children hed a bake sale in order to raise funds for the Guide Dog charity, so that we could sponsor a puppy through its training to be a guide dog.
Our puppy was this little cutie, Spirit.
We received regular 'pupdates' informing us of Spriti's progress over the 2 years of his training.

Spirit is a qualified Guide Dog!
In November 2020, we received a wonderful letter explaining that not only had Spirit completed his training, but he had been matched with an owner!
His new owner is a man named James, who is blind. Spirit and James are getting on well together and are enjoying lots of walks.
