National Curriculum at Rabbsfarm

At Rabbsfarm Primary School, we have adopted and are very proud of our Creative Curriculum model. Teachers plan and teach topics based on National Curriculum objectives and are encouraged to inspire and excite children by linking areas of knowledge. We feel creativity is vital to enable children to achieve high standards. The intent of our curriculum is to develop creative children who are independent learners, and who become adaptable and learn key skills for life. This creativity plays an important part in the curriculum by motivating and engaging the children and enabling them to become more confident learners. The impact of this curriculum has been better pupil engagement in lessons, improved pupil progress and pupils learning skills which they further develop outside of school.

As of September 2014 a new National Curriclum was introduced into primary schools. As a result there have been many changes to what is taught in which year group. On this page are the current overviews of subject coverage for each year group per half term.

Please also feel free to read a parent support booklet produced by Rising Stars detailing the changes across the national curriculum.

As a school we are currently using the Phonics Play scheme of work. This is used primarily in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 to support the development of reading through phonics. Phonics Play can be accessed at home via this link. Please ask your child's class teacher for their login details.

Curriculum By Year Groups

Each of our year groups has put together a newsletter detailing what the children will be working on this term.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to see your child's class teacher after school.
